Rehearsals starting up for presentation of ‘Creation’

Open rehearsals begin Wednesday for the Aspen/Glenwood Choral Society’s spring presentation of “Creation,” a world premiere by composer and music director Ray Vincent Adams.Glenwood Springs rehearsals will take place from 6-8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Methodist Church, 824 Cooper Ave. The first rehearsal will be Wednesday, accompanied by Terry Lee.Aspen rehearsals take place from 7-8:30 p.m. Sundays and 6-8 p.m. Thursdays at the Aspen Community Church, 200 E. Bleeker St. Aspen’s first rehearsal is Thursday, accompanied by David Dyer.”Creation” is the final composition of the “Five Sacred Pieces” suite, which Adams began working on five years ago with the world premiere of “Angels.” Singers of all levels are invited to attend and participate in “Creation.” No audition is required.Concerts will take place March 31 and April 1 at Harris Concert Hall in Aspen, and will feature the Choral Society Orchestra under Adams’ musical direction.
