Republicans eroding freedoms, driving U.S. into the ground

Russell Hedman

Dear Editor,

Dick Bradley’s gloating rant on the election (GSPI Dec.1) makes me believe that he gets all of his information from Rush Limbaugh. I would like to offer a different view on the results of this election and the “overall demise of the Democratic Party.”

Maybe the fear mongering of the Bushies actually worked to divert attention from the economic, social and environmental failures of this administration. Bush is still the “stupid hick” he was a year ago, but his puppeteer, Karl Rove, masterminded a strategy of fear that played on the insecurities of American citizens. This was a cynical political ploy designed to increase their control of the government in order to further enrich the Republican campaign contributors, continue the erosion of our constitutional freedoms and drive this country further into the ground.
