Residents rupture gas line

Saturday afternoon Glenwood residents hit a gas line while digging a hole to put in a new sprinkler line. The leak started at about 12:30 p.m., said Cheri Shankland, owner of the home.In less than an hour, the leak was capped by Kinder Morgan, a gas supplier. Before digging, Shankland’s friends obtained a detailed outline of the property’s utilities and did not find a gas line marked in the area where they hit the line, Shankland said.”Maybe they were wrong,” Shankland said. The leak occurred at 1110 Parkwood Lane near Sopris Elementary school.
