RFTA summer bus schedule begins Sunday

ASPEN, Colorado – The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority’s summer bus schedule resumes on Sunday, including the return of weekend and nighttime service every 30 minutes on the valley route between Glenwood Springs and Aspen.

Also starting up for the summer season on Sunday will be:

• The Woody Creek Shuttle;

• Snowmass 30-minute connecting service until 12:30 a.m. (for later connecting times, call the Rubey Park Bus Center at 925-8484);

• Free Aspen Cross Town and Galena Street shuttles, including late-night service on all free Aspen shuttles.

All bus service between Aspen and Snowmass Village will remain free this summer, according to a RFTA press release. However, some upvalley routes previously offered in the summer have been eliminated, including the Maroon Creek Road (Highlands Direct) route, the Bike Bus Express and the ZipLine.

Service along Maroon Creek Road will still be available every 20 minutes via the Castle Maroon bus route.

Also, Aspen Music School service starts June 16 and the Music Tent will be serviced before and after performances.

The Maroon Bells Bus Tour returns on June 20, including a special $3 Wednesday service all summer.
