Richard Eugene Young
Richard Eugene Young of Rifle died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003. He was 70.
He was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Mary Elizabeth Anderson and Walter Young. He grew up in Iowa and graduated from Ottumwa High School.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He married Margaret Longdo in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Young was the owner of Young’s Transfer, Moving and Storage Co. of Rifle for the past eight years.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, and the Elks Club in Iowa.
Mr. Young is survived by a son, Todd Young of Marion, Iowa; by daughters and son-in-law Terri and Jeff Williams of Rifle, and Tammi Stabler of Phoenix; by brother and sister-in-law Gary and Molly Young of Fort Wayne, Ind.; by sister Mary Ellen Dutton of Phoenix; and by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned.
Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa, at a later date.
Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
