Richard Walter Lehmann passed away quietly, with his beloved wife, Norma, and loving daughter, Lea, by his side. “Dick” was born Jan. 16, 1930.He will be remembered by those who knew him best as a kind and loving man with a terrific sense of humor who loved to watch the ponies run.He was preceded in death by parents Bill and Florence Lehmann and first wife, Joan Turner.He is survived by brother Gerald (Pat) Lehmann; sisters Betty (Jim) Drake and Beverly (Vern) Billington; sons Dick Jr. and Daniel; granddaughter Sara Beth; grandson Matthew; stepchildren Lea (Joe) Carpenter and their children Aimee and Kory Carpenter; Brian (Barb) Kittleson and their children Mark and Nicole Kittleson, and David (Gayle) Kittleson, and their children, Bill and Erika Kittleson.A memorial service and celebration of Richard’s life will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 21, at the Rifle Senior Center community room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Richard Lehmann to Roaring Fork Hospice, P.O. Box 1970, Glenwood Springs, CO 81602.Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.To Richard: God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come with me.” With tearful eyes we cried for you and watched you fade away. Your gold heart stopped beating, your gentle soul at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he welcomes, like you, the best.
