Dear Editor,

Gosh, Leslie, your letter to the Editor responding to mine about the Allard/Strickland Senate race seemed a little personal. Shows me a lot of class on the part of both you and the Post Independent editorial staff!

Please `splain to us the relevance of my being a one-term county commissioner. I guess a Democrat just can’t understand anyone leaving public office voluntarily. Especially one like me who carried 20 of all 21 precincts in the county when I was elected, thank you very much. Are you saying it’s better to be an oft-defeated candidate for commissioner such as yourself, Leslie?

In fact, let me tell you the degree to which my demonstrated political acumen and credibility always has, and remains today, in excess of yours – infinite!
