Rifle community meeting to take place on  Tuesday regarding future housing information

The city of Rifle has announced a community meeting in the city council chambers to present the completed future housing plan for 2026 and gather input from the community.

The housing plan was developed in a partnership with Points Consulting, highlighting Rifle’s current housing challenges, identifying available land for future development and presenting key data and insights to guide future decision making.

The housing plan also includes recommendations like adopting form-based code, allowing more diverse housing types, incentives for affordable units and reducing development barriers to help Rifle expand its housing options.

“It’s a closing public meeting, so people can come and talk to the consultant and see what’s in the plan,” City Manager Patrick Waller said. “We appreciate comments and the survey to see how Rifle will be handling housing moving forward.”

Event attendees will have opportunities to learn about the results of a citywide housing study, see recommendations for future housing development and zoning updates, and ask questions to provide input to the city staff and consultants.

Other consulting firms, like KLJ Engineering, will be in attendance to discuss their work on the recently completed “Safe Streets for All action plan.”
