Rifle High School opening delayed

Rifle High School’s opening day has been delayed until Tuesday, Aug. 19.

According to a Garfield School District Re-2 press release, a problem with the student database is responsible for the delay. No other school’s starting date is affected.

The database has been inaccessible since Thursday following an extended power outage. The district is unable to produce accurate student schedules.

Elk Creek Elementary is opening Monday, Aug. 25, due to construction delays. All other Re-2 schools will open on Monday, Aug. 18.
