Rifle man killed in crash

A Rifle man was killed Saturday night when the car he was driving hit a concrete culvert wall and rolled over into a ditch.

The Colorado State Patrol did not release the man’s name or age Monday because his next of kin had not yet been notified.

The crash happened at around 10:45 p.m. on County Road 221, also known as Green Lane, near Rifle.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle. The CSP’s news release on the incident said the man was not wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol is suspected as being a factor in the crash.
