Editor’s note: The Rifle Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Theft and drug possession: Officers were called to a report of shoplifting from a business in the 100 block of East Third Street at 4:15 p.m. on April 22. They arrested Tina Ruth Cumbie, 47, of Rifle on suspicion of theft and possession of methamphetamine.

Warrant arrest: Rifle officers went to New Castle at 10:45 p.m. on April 22, where New Castle police were holding a juvenile who was wanted on a Rifle Municipal Court warrant. The youth posted bond and was released to a guardian.



Hit and run: Officers are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred at 6:30 p.m. on April 24 in the 500 block of West Second Street.

Theft: Officers are investigating an allegation that a resident’s housemate stole medication from him. The incident was reported at midnight on April 25.



Warrant arrest: Dennis Alvin Marsh, 42, of Dove Creek was contacted by officers in the 200 block of E. 18th St. at 2:30 p.m. on April 25. He was placed under arrest on a misdemeanor warrant.

Driving without insurance: Officers stopped Michelle Leigh Mobley, 32, of Rifle for a traffic violation at 11 p.m. on April 25 in the 1700 block of Railroad Avenue. She was ticketed and released for driving without proof of insurance and for possession of drug paraphernalia, but her vehicle was impounded.

Criminal mischief: Officers are investigating an incident of paint being splattered on a house in the 1300 block of East 17th Street. The incident was reported at 6:30 p.m. on April 26. There are no suspects in the case.

Assault: Officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of West 25th Street at 7:30 on April 26 on a report of an assault. Officers later arrested Loyd Edward Fuller, 26, of Rifle on suspicion of reckless driving, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, burglary and hit and run.

Menacing: Officers were called to the Whiteriver Apartments at 7 p.m. on April 27 on a report of a man with a knife. They arrested Shawn O’Malley, 30, of Rifle on suspicion of menacing, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Disorderly conduct: Officers were called to a domestic disturbance at 7:30 p.m. on April 27 in the 300 block of West 24th Place. They arrested Lauren Michelle Brown, 24, of Rifle on suspicion of disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and domestic violence.

Disorderly conduct: Officers were called to the 600 block of Fairway Avenue at midnight on April 28 on a report of shots fired. Following an investigation, they arrested Troy Dean Garcia, 42, of Rifle on suspicion of disorderly conduct and possession of a weapon while under the influence.

Theft: Police took a report of a ladder being stolen from a pickup truck parked at Wal-Mart. The incident was reported at 11:30 p.m. on April 29.

Driving under the influence: Officers stopped a motorist in the 600 block of Will Avenue at 12:30 a.m. on April 30 for improper signaling. They arrested David Carroll, 24, of New Castle on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with an open container of alcohol, and driving without proof of insurance.

Auto theft: Officers are investigating the theft of a vehicle from the 800 block of E. 19th Street. The vehicle was reported missing at 11 a.m. on April 30.

License and insurance violations: Officers contacted Debra Jeanette Black, 50, of Rifle at 10:30 p.m. on April 30 for driving a vehicle with expired plates in the 100 block of East 26th Street. She was arrested on suspicion of driving with expired plates, no proof of insurance and failing to obtain a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days after moving to the state. She posted bond and was released with a summons.

Warrant arrest: Officers contacted Maria Isabel Palomera, 29, of Rifle at 2 p.m. on May 1. She was known to be wanted on a warrant, and was lodged in the county jail.

Assault: Officers were called to a disturbance at 7 p.m. on May 1 in the 700 block of West 24th Street. After investigating, the arrested Matt Archambault, 37, of Rifle on suspicion of assault, child abuse and domestic violence.
