Editor’s note: The Rifle Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Driving under influence: Police stopped a vehicle for weaving at 3:51 p.m. on Oct. 8. Carlos Acosta Villanueva, 41, of Rifle, was suspected to be operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Villanueva was arrested and charged with DUI and other traffic offenses.

Burglary: Police responded to a report of a burglary at 6:54 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the Rifle Organic Grow Store. Police discovered that the store was broken into and items had been stolen.



Investigation: Police are investigating a report of harassment that allegedly occurred at 11:02 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the 400 block of Last Chance Drive.

Investigation: Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Railroad Avenue at 7:50 a.m. on Oct. 10 for a report of burglary. Police found that items had been stolen from a business. This case is under investigation.



Criminal Mischief: Police received a report at 11:19 a.m. on Oct. 10 that a vehicle window had been broken in the 1400 block of Graham Court.

Shoplifting: Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart in Rifle at 3:17 p.m. on Oct. 10 on a report of shoplifting. Officers arrested Laura Michelle Risley, 18, of Parachute for alleged theft.
