Rifle Police Report
Editor’s note: The Rifle Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Warrant arrest: At 10:41 a.m. on Feb. 15, police arrested Humberto Guerrero, 19, of Rifle, in the 200 block of East 18th Street for an outstanding warrant. Guerrero was transported to Garfield County Jail.
Possession, theft, trespass: Police responded to a report of theft in the 800 block of Railroad Avenue at 11:22 a.m. on Feb. 16. Officers located two suspects nearby and placed them under arrest for drug-related charges. A 15-year-old juvenile male was cited for first-degree criminal trespass and possession of marijuana. Ashley Parker, 18, of Rifle, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The juvenile was transported to a juvenile detention facility; Parker was transported to Garfield County Jail.
Warrant arrest: Police contacted Brandon Clouse, 33, of Rifle, in the 100 block of East Third Street at 9:28 p.m. on Feb. 16 and arrested him for an outstanding warrant. Clouse was later released on bond.
Theft: Rifle Police are investigating a theft from the 300 block of East Avenue reported at 5:57 p.m. on Feb. 18.
Driving under the influence: In the 2000 Block of West Second Street, officers stopped a vehicle for a brake light violation at 2:08 a.m. on Feb. 19. After a short investigation, Joe Manuel Semintal, 31, of Silt, was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Driving under the influence: Police contacted Joel Marrufo-Moncada, 35, of Rifle, as a REDDI report at 2:14 p.m. on Feb. 19 in the 400 block of West Second Street. Officers observed Marrufo-Moncada’s vehicle weaving, traveling in the wrong lane and driving recklessly. A witness reported that the motorist had backed his vehicle into the witness’s residence, causing no noticeable damage. Marrufo-Moncada was arrested for suspicion of DUI, duty upon striking property and other related offenses.
Driving under the influence: Police contacted a vehicle that made a careless turn and slid off the road at 9:42 p.m. on Feb. 19 in the 2400 block of Railroad Avenue. After investigation, Bruce Irvin Strand, 24, of Rifle, was released on a summons for suspicion of DUI, careless driving, and an interlock device restriction.
Theft from vehicles: Police took three reports on Feb. 20 of items taken from locked and unlocked vehicles in the 200 block of Creek Court, the 2700 block of Acacia Avenue and the 3000 block of Coal Mine Avenue. In some cases, significant damage was done to the interior. Police received a similar theft report on Feb. 21 regarding a vehicle parked in the 2800 block of Acacia Avenue.
