Rifle wrestlers rally from big deficit to win dual at Delta

Though they trailed 33-14 late in the meet, Rifle High’s wrestlers surged back to win Wednesday’s dual meet at Delta.

“It was a very exciting dual,” said Bears coach John Wisniewski, whose team finished the night with a 35-33 win.

Wins came from Isaac Rider (tech fall), Dallas Rohrig (decision), Coy Zang (pin), Tony Galaviz (pin), A.J. Cordova (decision), Clayton Coombs (pin) and Saul Cerros (pin).

Rifle won the final four matches to escape with the triumph.

The Bears will be on their home mat today for the Rifle Duals. The wrestling begins at 8:30 a.m.
