Robbery at West Glenwood Alpine Bank

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Glenwood Springs Police officers are investigating an armed robbery at a Glenwood Springs Alpine Bank Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the Alpine Bank branch at 50891 Highway 6 in West Glenwood Springs about 5:30 p.m. after the robbery occurred, said Glenwood Springs Police Chief Terry Wilson. No one was injured during the robbery, he said.

Wilson declined to reveal any further details about the robbery Monday night.

Bruce Robinson, regional president for Alpine Bank’s Colorado River Region, wouldn’t elaborate on any details of the robbery.

“We’re just very thankful that no one was injured,” he said.

Robinson was at the bank when the Post Independent reached him for comment. He said that through his many years in the banking industry this isn’t the first time he’s been through a situation like this.

Wilson said more details about the robbery may be forthcoming today.
