Robert A. Ziegler Sr.

Robert A. Ziegler Sr., 72, passed away March 7, 2008, at his home in Rifle.

He was born May 3, 1935, in Lowell, Fla., to Albert W. and Bessie Mae Lindsay Ziegler.

He married Marilyn L. Robertson Dec. 23, 1953, in Martin, Fla.

Robert was the supervisor of the maintenance shop for Aspen, Buttermilk and Highland mountains of the Aspen Skiing Co.

Robert is survived by his wife; sons Robert A. Ziegler II, of DuBois, Wyo., and William L. Ziegler of New Castle; daughter Sharon A. Ziegler Barnes of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brothers Clarence (Buddy) Ziegler of Ocala, Fla., and Roger Ziegler of Athens, Alaska; sisters Bernell Ketchun and Doris Brown, both of Ocala; three daughters-in-law; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers who died during infancy; and another brother, James Ziegler.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Farnum-Holt Chapel in Glenwood Springs.
