Robert Charles Bloomfield

Robert Charles Bloomfield, 63, of New Castle, died Jan. 20, 2008.

He was born May 3, 1944, in Meeker, to Hartley and Margaret Bloomfield. He enjoyed ranching with his father while he grew up.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and taught and coached at Rifle High School, where he contributed to many achievements in the Ag Program and in co-coaching the 1973 State Football Championship team.

He married Becky Dawson Sept. 27, 1973, and they had three children.

Bob enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked the ranching lifestyle of caring for his cattle, haying and his fertilizer business.

Bob is survived by his wife; children Jim Bob (Laurel) Bloomfield, Jennifer (Jared) Street, and Jack (Kristen) Bloomfield; mother; brother Hartley (Lynn) Bloomfield; grandchildren Kade and Rachel Street: and many other extended family members.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rifle.
