Robert James Albers Sr., 41, passed away March 16, 2005, in New Castle. He was born March 26, 1963, to Robert Garrett and Sandra Lee (De Roeck) Albers in Fort Campbell, Ky.He attended the University of Northern Colorado and was a lifelong member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.Robert loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a loving father and son. Buster Brown, his dog, was a special friend to him. He had many friends and will be missed by all.Robert was a member of Elks Club 2286 of Glenwood Springs. He was a very calm man until the Broncos played football, and then he was very vocal.He was an auto mechanic and lived in New Castle for 17 years.Robert is survived by his parents, Robert and Sandra Albers, of Idaho Springs; sons Robert James Albers Jr., of Idaho Springs, and Steve (Arella) Nguyen, of Glenwood Springs; daughters Yolanda (Brian) Maynard, of Silt, and Dashinae Albers, of Idaho Springs; brother, Master Sergeant Ronald E. (Jamie) Albers, of Alaska; sister, Wendy (Kirt) Heffner, of Idaho Springs; grandparents, Robert and Glennyce De Roech, of Grand Junction; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, March 19, at Elks Club 2286, 51939 U.S. Highway 6 & 24, Glenwood Springs, with the chaplain of the Elks Club officiating.Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
