Robert Lee Walters

Robert Lee Walters passed away in Rifle on Aug. 24, 2007. He was 69. He was born in Denver to Kenneth Leland Walters and Norma Grey, on April 6, 1938. He married Juanita Joyce Davis in Raton, N.M., on June 25, 1960. He served in the Army and was involved with the Elks and VFW.Robert is preceded in death by his brother Richard Walters and grandmother Myria S. Bremner.He is survived by his wife, Joyce Walters; sons Christopher Lucas, John Patrick and Henry Hendrickson; daughter Julie Ann Poulson (Walters); brother Kenneth Leland Walters II (Carrol); sister Dixie; grandchildren Brad, Kenneth Leland Walters III and Kenneth Leland Walters IV, and Arthur, Dede and Amanda Poulson, Amber and JD Mitchell, and Christian and Helen Walters. He was known as “Flat Top Bob.” He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar, the outdoors, especially Alaska, camping, and seeing his family and friends. A memorial service will be at the V.A. Nursing Home in Rifle on Aug. 26 at 3 p.m., and a service will take place at the Glenwood Elks Lodge at a date to be announced.
