Robert LeRoy Kious

Robert LeRoy Kious of Parachute died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at his home. He was 61.

He was born July 15, 1940, in Maryland, the son of Carl LeRoy Kious, and grew up in the Canon City area.

He married Rose Mary Hall on March 7, 1970, in Winnemucca, Nev. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Kious enjoyed riding and taking care of horses, caring for pigs, ranching and using his computer.

He worked as a truck driver and lived at Wallace Creek, west of Parachute, for the past 12 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Kious is survived by his wife; by sons and daughters-in-law Rick and Jeanne Rohan of Oak Forest, Ill., and Dan and Dana Rohan of Silt; and by grandchildren Michael, Lauren, Sheri, Jeri and Danelle Rohan.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at Rifle Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 17, also at Rifle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Divide Creek Union Cemetery near Silt.

Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
