Robert Raymond Budd

Robert Raymond Budd, of New Castle, Colo., died Wednesday March 20, 2002, at his home. He was 30.

Budd was born Sept. 28, 1971, in Denver, to Joe and Shirley Budd of New Castle. He attended school in New Castle and was a 1990 graduate of Rifle High School. He attended Mesa State College where he enrolled in auto mechanics classes. He worked at Glenwood Springs Ford since 1991. He was a very capable mechanic certified in various areas of repair, but mainly excelled in gas and diesel engine repair.

He loved the simple life and spent much of his time camping, fishing, and working in the garage. His primary interests were in the restoration of his 1967 Ford Galaxie, and the Denver Broncos. He was a member of the Apple Tree Volunteer Fire Department and won the Fireman of the Year honor in 2001.



He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, and by a sister.

He is survived by his parents; grandparents Robert Budd of Cotopaxi, Colo., and Flora Budd of New Castle; brother Brian Budd of Rifle; sister Stephanie Miller and her husband Gabe of New Castle; nephew Raymond of Rifle; niece Bella of New Castle; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.



A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Farnum-Holt Funeral Home in Glenwood Springs. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burning Mountain Fire Department, Station 3 Auxiliary, Attention: Mellany Lang, 5033 335 Road, #285, New Castle, CO 81647.
