Lane reopened after rockslide on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon

The right lane of westbound Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon has now been reopened, after a rockslide this morning at mile marker 130.2 near Bair Ranch Rest Area.
Colorado Department of Transportation Communications Manager Tracy Trulove said the left-hand lane remained open during the cleanup, so traffic was not blocked.
She said the fall created a divot in the shoulder of the road, which required asphalt patching.
Trulove said a geo-hazard team will take a look at the specific spot of the rockfall, but won’t know more until after their evaluation.
“Where they feel there is greater need to mitigate they will,” she said. “Anywhere with a steep cliff in Glenwood Canyon, we look at rockfall mitigation.”
