Roger Andrew Ruiz, 34, died in an automobile accident on May 31, 2006, near New Castle.Roger was born August 6, 1971, in Las Vegas to Richard Vincent and Maria De los Angeles (Gomez) Ruiz. Roger married Claudia Elizabeth Nava April 15, 2003, in Las Vegas.He had been a resident of Glenwood Springs for the past eight months.Roger was a smart, caring man who was able to make everyone’s life happy even if they had been upset with him. When he was a younger man, one of his best memories was looking at the stars with his father for hours. Every single star had a meaning to him and he always knew that one day soon he was to be a part of them. He never shared this memory with anyone before he married Claudia and shared it with her. He wanted his wife to be part of that memory and expectation, too. There were several times he took his wife outside with him just to stare at the stars and she loved every minute of this time with him.He is survived by his wife; sons Felix Ruiz and Roger Ruiz Jr.; daughter Olivia Ruiz; parents; brothers Ricky (Sherry), Renee (Roleene), Rudy and Vincent (Dionna) Ruiz; sister Regina Ruiz; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.He was preceded in death by his grandparents.There will be a visitation held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 5, at the Farnum-Holt Funeral Home Chapel, 405 W. Seventh St., Glenwood Springs. A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday, June 6, at the Farnum-Holt Funeral Home Chapel.There will also be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 9, at the Palm Crematory Chapel, 1325 N. Main, Las Vegas.Farnum-Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
