Ron McCray, 63, longtime resident of Silt, died Dec. 8 at his home in Mountain Home, Ark., after a long illness

Ron loved ranch work and spending time with his children, and he loved his grandchildren.

He was president of the Holy Cross Cattlemen’s Association, a member of the Garfield County Fair Board and a 4-H leader for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his mother, Margaret McCray; daughter Wendy McCray of San Francisco; son Wayne (Tina) McCray of Silt; grandchildren Amanda, Lane and Cody McCray; brothers Harold McCray of Monument and Tom McCray of Walsenburg; nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Burial has taken place in Rinard, Ill.

A memorial service is planned here for a later date.
