Rose Creton

Rose Creton, of Grand Junction, Colo., died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was 88.

She was born Oct. 10, 1913, in Aspen, Colo., to Antone and Cassie Antonioli. Her early childhood was spent in Woody Creek, Colo. She married Alex Creton on Dec. 11, 1934, in Denver, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

She enjoyed music and played the accordion with her father for parties and dances in the Roaring Fork Valley. She also played music with her husband in the Sopris Six Dance Band for 17 years. She and her husband ranched in the Roaring Fork Valley before retiring to Grand Junction in 1990. She also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.



She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

She is survived by her husband and numerous nieces and nephews.



A Rosary was held Monday at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.

Farnum-Holt Funeral Home of Glenwood Springs is in charge of arrangements.
