Royalty meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Rifle

An educational meeting for local oil and gas mineral rights owners about ongoing class action lawsuits is scheduled for Wednesday.

The meeting is set to start at 6 p.m. at Wamsley Elementary School in Rifle and will be conducted by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners.

Leaders of the meeting will talk about class-action lawsuits that are affecting Garfield County mineral rights owners. Owners have to decide whether they want to stay a part of the lawsuits or opt out of them.

Western Slope attorneys and petroleum accountants will be at the meeting to give a review of how these cases might affect their rights and minerals. The meeting is open to the public. For more information contact Roy Savage at 625-1675 or at
