Saluting John Haines
Dear Editor,
Having previously worked for John Haines, I can tell you that this is a man who has always given to others. Not a Thanksgiving passed that John and his wife Jan didn’t come around with a pickup truck full of frozen turkeys passing them out to each and every employee. If it wasn’t turkeys, it was a bag of frozen beef from a recently purchased steer at a local 4-H auction.
John Haines has always been one of the most generous local businessmen to be a part of this community, and now, John has taken his generosity to a national level by donating over $30,000 of his own money to replace a slab of marble at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. If you’ve never been to this most solemn place in our great country, then you are missing an experience of lifetime, one only found in America.
John, having served in the US military, I salute you.
