Samuel Lewis Johnston

Samuel Johnston died Dec. 15, 2008.

He was born May 7, 1982, in Tacoma, Washington.

He moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in the early 1990s.

Sam was a very hard-working man who did everything he could to provide for his children.

He was a self-employed mechanic and he loved fixing up, cars, hot rods especially.

He enjoyed four-wheeling, camping, fishing, basically anything to do with the outdoors. He had a very fun, outgoing attitude.

Sam’s children completed him. He will be deeply missed, but his memories will always be in his loved ones’ hearts and minds.

He is survived by mother, Kelly Ballesteros of New Castle; two younger siblings; sons Gage Lewis Johnston, Corbett Nathaniel Johnston and Logan Riley Johnston of Rifle; mother of his three children Amber Chere Blei of Rifle; and many other family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Crystal River Baptist Church in Carbondale.
