Schmueser Gordon Meyer (SGM), headquartered in Glenwood Springs, is offering two $1,000 scholarships to area high school and college students interested in pursuing civil engineering or surveying degrees.

In September 2001, SGM was saddened by the death of Steve Westhoff, a field engineer and SGM employee of two years. Westhoff’s integrity, humor and vast technical knowledge were an inspiration to SGM and many clients. In 2002, SGM renamed its scholarship in honor of Westhoff and the qualities he embodied as a person and as an engineer.

Applications are due by Friday, April 6, and can be obtained at area high schools, by calling SGM at 945-1004, or by downloading from the Web at>.
