Search dogs and a helicopter have been employed in the ongoing search for a missing Redstone man, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

William Worley, 61, was last seen on July 30, according to his family, and authorities found his vehicle at the East Creek trailhead near Redstone on Tuesday, Aug. 3.

Mountain Rescue Aspen and the sheriff’s office began searching early Wednesday and have continued to comb the area. Garfield County Search and Rescue, search dogs and a helicopter from DBS Helicopters have also joined in the effort.

The search area encompasses about 50 square miles and some challenging terrain, according to the sheriff’s office. The search is expected to continue into the weekend.

Anyone with information that could assist searchers or anyone who knows Worley’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at (970) 920-5300.
