See, hear what’s shakin’ with Diosa

Tongue-in-cheek mambo combo Diosa will headline the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork’s annual Hands and Heart fund-raiser Saturday.Diosa is the nine-piece traveling ensemble of Boulder-based Cabaret Diosa, whose self-described mission is “to make you dance as if it were your last night on earth.” The band puts on a high-energy show that is equal parts tiki lounge act, Latin big-band exotica, surfer rock and gypsy melodrama.The annual benefit will take place at the school, a half-mile up valley of Catherine Store on Old Highway 82, and feature a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and cash bar starting at 6 p.m. Diosa will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight.Tickets are $50 per person and are available in advance from the school or Sounds Easy in Carbondale. Each year, the Hands and Heart silent auction is a major event on the Waldorf School’s calendar.For more information, call the Waldorf School office at 963-1960.
