Selfies: Fulfilling a dream left brewing since age 17

Regina Piccione started working at the original Expresso Hut in Glenwood when she was just 15 years old. By the age of 17 she knew she wanted to one day own the shop and carry on the business herself. In January of this year, she made that dream come true after purchasing the shop from the former owner.

With a new exterior design but keeping the same coffee purchased locally, the success of the business has been slowly picking up each month. Piccione said one of the many highlights of owning a small shop right on Grand Avenue is seeing the same faces regularly. “You just develop a relationship with your customers that you see on a daily basis,” she said.

The shop is located at 1512 Grand Ave. and is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
