Selfies: Osage Gardens—Bringing nutrient dense produce to local tables and beyond
Sarah and Tom Rumery founded Osage Gardens in 1992 on the river frontage road between New Castle and Silt. The Rumerys began by selling only tomatoes at local stores, but quickly discovered a high demand for locally grown, fresh basil. The farm now specializes in fresh culinary herbs and grows a variety of more than 22 different herbs, as well as a variety of fresh vegetables. Tom and Sarah have employed around 30 people at the farm, which covers 20 acres. The work is year-round and never-ending. Osage Gardens’ staff takes pride in providing healthy and flavorful produce to Colorado for the past 25 years.
