The third annual Sunset Wine Tasting Extravaganza ’08 will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Columbine Restaurant in Rifle.
Fine wines, port and microbrews, and gourmet cuisine from Columbine Restaurant will be served. A silent auction, live music with Acoustic Mayhem, art displays and a pastel demonstration will be part of the evening.
The event is hosted by Shale Country LIquors and Columbine Restaurant, and is a benefit for Bookclifffs Council on the Arts and Humanities.

“A Rodeo,” will be performed at 7 p.m. June 13 and 14; and special matinees at 2 p.m. June 14 and 15 at the Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale. This exciting, fun-filled program is produced by the Danse Arts Theatre Company and the Glenwood Dance Academy. Barroom brawls, saloon girls, gunslingers and the rope tricks of Anita Witt highlight this performance.
The June 15 matinee is free of charge to all area nursing homes and assisted living facility customers, as well as friends at Mountain Valley Developmental Services.
The 10th annual Valley Cruisers Car Show will continue today, Saturday, June 7, in Carbondale.
Late registration starts at 7 a.m. Saturday, displays and vendors will be available at 7 a.m., and the show starts at 9 a.m.. Awards for show entrants will include People’s Choice, Best of Show, Mayor’s Trophy, Ladies’ Choice plus the top 30 awards. A live band will rock the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with awards afterward.
The last item to be awarded will be a new ZZ4 350 V-8 engine. Only registered participants will be eligible to win.
A silent auction will be conducted to benefit local charity organizations. NAPA has donated a go-cart for the auction, both spectators and participants will be eligible to win.

Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, Garfield County and the Garfield County Combined Courts staff, families and friends will be hosting a Trash and Treasures sale fro 7 a.m. to noon June 28, inside at the Garfield County Fairgrounds, 1001 Railroad Ave. in Rifle.
