Senior Briefs
The Colorado Division of Insurance reported today that Medicare beneficiaries in Colorado have reported receiving calls from people claiming to represent Medicare asking for their bank routing information. This is part of a nationwide fraud scheme. Medicare and Social Security will not call consumers and ask for their banking information.
If someone calls asking for personal information, or the call doesn’t seem right for some other reason, a beneficiary should hang up the phone, and report the call to Joy Grinstead with the Colorado Division of Insurance’s Senior Medicare Patrol project at (303) 894-2290.
