Roaring Fork Valley Quilters quilt show at the Aspen Chapel Gallery will run through Feb 15.

Participating artists include Cynthia DeFrancia, Susan Dodington, Aspen; Adele Plantec, Snowmass Village; Jonne Winter, Carbondale; Sandy Boyd, Linda Cheney, B Anne Greene, and Kathleen Molitor, Glenwood Springs. The show was curated by Sandy Boyd.

To get to the Aspen Chapel, use the Castle Creek Road exit from the roundabout to Meadowood Drive.

AARP has launched the latest version of its in-classroom driver safety program, edition 6. To ensure 50+ drivers stay safe behind the wheel, the course’s curriculum has been updated to reflect the most current driving information and safety tips available.

Colorado Mountain College Senior Center and RSVP, 1402 Blake St, Glenwood Springs, will be sponsoring the classes, given in two half-day session Feb. 23 and 24, and one full-day class March 21.

Tickets are now on sale for Symphony Swing, the Symphony in the Valley’s gala to benefit the community orchestra.

The gala events feature the full orchestra and the Symphony in the Valley Jazz Ensemble playing the top tunes from the Big Band era, with a variety of guest vocalists, including Jeannie Walla, Debbie Dawson and the ensemble Mixed Emotion.

Symphony Swing will be presented at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs and at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Grand Valley High School in Parachute.

The Glenwood Springs event is a swanky dinner dance, with a full-course meal and a cash bar in the Devereux Room at the Hotel Colorado. A lodging package which includes tickets for the dinner dance and a one-night stay at the Hotel Colorado is also available.

The Parachute event will be more casual, with light refreshments, bistro-style table seating and dancing in the auditorium-cafeteria at Grand Valley High School.

A live auction will be held between the two music sets at both events.
