Join the seniors at Valley Senior Center at 11:30 a.m. each Wednesday for a delicious luncheon. Enjoy conversation with neighbors, meet new friend sand learn what’s happening in the Parachute community.

The food is prepared by Rifle Senior Center and is very nutritious and tasty.

Valley Senior Center is located at 540 N. Parachute Ave. in North Parachute.

For reservations, call 285-7216 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mondays.

Everyone is welcome for bingo at 7 p.m. every Saturday, with soft drinks and snacks.

Helping Hands for Seniors may be able to help Glenwood Springs area senior citizens (or disabled) who need assistance with basic yard and household maintenance.

This new service program sponsored by High Country RSVP can help with basic yard work, basic maintenance, and basic home repair.

Please call 384-8746. Someone will call you back and try to match you up with skilled volunteers and other community resources and get your job done.

Try it out at Glenwood Sewing Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18. See and try felting by machine, experience hand embroidery, applique, quilting, print photos on fabric, embellish with Angelina fiber, hot-fix crystals, make fabric beads and make thread lace.

Dwyer Greens south of New Castle will be hosting its annual open house from 2-7 p.m Saturday, April 18, at 4730 County Road 335. See all the beautiful plants and flowers, enjoy the music and good food.

Paint-your-own heart bowl for Mother’s Day, May 10. Come to Carbondale Clay Center to customize a heart bowl for your mother 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 18; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25.

Moms will cherish baby hand/footprints. Make these by appointment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Roaring Fork Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 20, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1016 Cooper Ave. in Glenwood. The program will be a video on the ancient Mayan city of Copan.

The spring outing for club members will be the Colorado Rock Art Association annual Symposium in Cortez May 15 to 17.

Learn the traditional art of basket weaving by making a muffin basket from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the New Castle Branch Library. Registration for this program is required, and there is a small fee for materials.

Hospice of the Valley is offering volunteer training from 4-7 p.m. (all days) Monday April 27; Tuesday, April 28; Wednesday, April 29; Monday, May 4; Tuesday, May 5; and Wednesday, May 6; at CMC in Rifle.
