Sharron M. Stroud, 64, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on September 7, 2011, at her home in Rifle.Sharron was born May 18, 1947, in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Robert & Irene (Leisher) Moore. She married the love of her life, Bruce Stroud, in 1967 in Westminster, Colorado.Sharron had a passion for life. She was the consummate hostess, throwing parties for everything from New Year’s Eve to the Super Bowl to “Just Because It’s a Thursday.”There were always games to be played or stories to tell. She loved to be surrounded with the hustle and bustle of family and friends, but the one who truly had her heart was her grandson, Alex. He was her little prince.Sharron loved to travel, whether it was the “Girl’s Trips” to Las Vegas, or family vacations to Hawaii. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing on the ocean and tending to her animals. She also enjoyed bowling and made many friends through the local bowling league.Sharron leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Bruce; son Robert (Lynn); daughter Tamra; grandson Alex; and her mother-in-law Dorothy (Jim) Stoneman.She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter Wendy Marie.The family will be hosting an Open House Memorial on Friday, September 16, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm, at 203 28th Court in Rifle.Online condolences at RifleFuneralHome.com.
