Sheriff’s Department to the rescue

Dear Editor,

Thank you, Sheriff Tom Dalessandri and Undersheriff Jim Sears, for coming to our rescue at the Women’s Home Safety and Firearms Training Course at the Rifle City Hall May 3.

Being left in the lurch by our local police, we had to make a frantic call to our Sheriff’s Department to secure an officer to give the talk on the responsibilities and legal aspects of using firearms.

With only one hour’s time, Undersheriff Jim Sears came through and gave the talk on the use of firearms and the make-my-day law, which received many questions from the participants. Jim was given a big hand for his time and efforts and everyone was happy to be able to meet and talk to the undersheriff.

R.L. Pritchard,

Women’s Home Safety and Firearms Training Course
