Shoot day for Glenwood Springs Post Independent readers’ photo section is Saturday
The Day in the Life of Garfield County and the Roaring Fork Valley shoot day is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 25.
Photographers from around the area are asked to get out on Saturday and shoot photos for possible inclusion into the annual section.
This popular photography section is not a contest but rather an opportunity for everyone to shoot photos and see them in print.
We want people to grab their cameras and get out on Saturday and shoot all kinds of photos during all times of the day and night.
The goal is to capture an entire day of happenings in Garfield County and the Roaring Fork Valley on this day.
In the past, we have had hundreds of photographs submitted by more than 70 photographers.
To limit the number of photos submitted, we ask photographers to send in their three best photos from Saturday.
Please do not send in more than three. We will not go through multiple photos to pick out your three best – that’s up to you. Photographers who send in more than three photos will not be considered for the section. There will be an online voting contest to determine the section cover photo.
Photographers must take the photo on Sept. 25, then upload it onto the Post Independent website any time from Oct. 5 to Oct. 15. People will then have the opportunity to vote for their favorite photo starting on Oct. 5. Voting ends on Oct. 15. Only photos uploaded online will be considered for the cover shot. People who upload photos for the contest must also send high resolution photos and caption information to photos@ postindependent.com.
The Post Independent does reserve the right to choose a different cover photo if we feel it works better for the cover.
With all your photos, include who took the photo and photo caption information: Where and what time the photo was taken. When people are in the photo, please try and include IDs of the people.
The deadline for photos to arrive at the Post Independent is Thursday, Oct. 7. We encourage photographers to send photos by e-mail at email@example.com; photos can also be mailed or dropped off at 2014 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.
Remember, photos must be taken on Saturday, Sept. 25.
The section will be inserted into the Post Independent in late October.
