When film crews for the summer blockbuster “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” dangled high above the tunnels at Hanging Lake last year, film stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s status read MIA.It’s true; though scenes from the film showcase the steep walls and cliffs of Glenwood Canyon, Jolie and Pitt never actually set foot in Glenwood Springs.Now take a breath, and dry your eyes, because “Brangelina’s” absence from the canyon just might win you a trip to Hollywood, Calif.If, in 250 words or less, you can explain how you, as Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt, would spend an action-packed weekend in Glenwood Springs, you could win a grand prize three-night, four-day vacation for two in Hollywood. One grand-prize winner will receive airfare for two, lodging and activities in Hollywood as well as a two-night stay at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs.This Hollywood vacation package, donated by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, includes a tour of celebrities’ homes, a “behind the Red Carpet” visit to the Kodak Theatre and a $500 airline voucher from Springs Travel.Twenty-five runners-up will receive a “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” movie poster.Entries must express a creative and appealing description of an action-packed weekend in Glenwood Springs. So, unleash your creative side and plan a great getaway in the valley.Entry forms can be filled out online at the Glenwood Chamber Resort Association Web site at http://www.glenwoodchamber.com. Applications can also be picked up at the Springs Theatre in downtown Glenwood Springs. The deadline for entries is July 7.”It’s really a promotion for Glenwood Springs,” Marianne Virgili, president and CEO for the Glenwood Springs Chamber of Commerce, said.”It’s the first major motion picture to be filmed in Colorado in many years, and the movie is such a blockbuster that we thought we’d capitalize on the fact that it was filmed in Glenwood Springs.”
