Silt Police Report

Editor’s note: The Silt Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Identity theft: Police are investigating a report made Sept. 11 by a Silt woman that someone used her credit card number to purchase items over the Internet.

Driving under restraint: Police responded to a call placed at 8 p.m. on Sept. 11 about a motorist weaving on I-70. Ann Aubert, 54, of Grand Junction was cited for driving while her license was under restraint, failure to drive in a single lane and driving without wearing a seatbelt.



Hit and run: Police took a report of hit-and-run damage to a fence in the 1200 block of Charlin Avenue on Sept. 17.

Theft: Officers were called to the 700 block of Main Street at 9 p.m. on Sept. 21, where a man reported that someone had stolen a gift card from him and used it to make a purchase at a store in Grand Junction. There are no suspects in the case.



Criminal mischief: Officers were called to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of West Richards Avenue at 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 24. The suspect, David Oyarzabal, 47, of Silt was located the next morning and arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief, harassment and obstruction of telephone service and lodged at the county jail.
