Silt Police Report
Editor’s note: The Silt Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Driving under the influence: Officers received a citizen report of a suspected drunk driver at 8:50 p.m. on June 7. They stopped a vehicle on I-70 and arrested David Demers, 33, of Silt on suspicion of driving under the influence, failure to yield in an intersection, and failure to obtain a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days after moving to the state.
Warrant arrest: Officers on patrol at 3 p.m. on June 10 in the 1800 block of Fawn Court noticed a man wanted on an active warrant. They arrested Angel Pineda, 25, of Silt and lodged him at the county jail.

Forest Service investigates Independence Pass snowmobiling case; alleged culprit posted pictures on social media
Numerous people have identified Breckenridge resident David Lesh as one of the men riding snowmobiles on snow-free terrain near Aspen. Lesh has posted several pictures of his illegal activity on social media, including snowmobiling at what he identified as the summit of Mount Elbert.
