Silt woman reports being kidnapped

A 20-year-old Silt woman reported being kidnapped by two men in Silt on Wednesday, then taken to Lakewood, where the men let her go, according to Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario.

The woman reportedly found her way to Lakewood High School and called Lakewood police.

Officers took her to the Lakewood Police Department to get details about the abduction and descriptions of her alleged kidnappers, Vallario said.

According to preliminary information, the woman was kidnapped while walking down County Road 225 between Silt and Rifle, also known as Antlers Lane.

Judging from the time she was found in Lakewood and how long it takes to drive there, Vallario guessed the woman was abducted sometime in late morning to early afternoon.

“We don’t even know if it was a robbery or a sexual assault as the motive, or what,” Vallario said.

No additional information was known about the two suspects.
