Small wildfire near New Castle

Crews are fighting a small brush fire on private land in the Garfield Creek Wildlife Area near New Castle.
The fire, which appears to be caused by a lightning strike, was at 1.8 acres around 4:30 p.m. No structures were in danger.
Colorado River Fire Rescue and the Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit are on the scene and receiving assistance from a helicopter.
