Snowlight’s greeting cards out

The Carbondale-based Snowlight editions is now selling its 2003 summer greeting cards at stores throughout Colorado, and online.

Gretchen Grebe, a 16-year-old Colorado Rocky Mountain School student, has joined Snowlight for the summer, and is in charge of sales and distribution from Aspen to Glenwood Springs.

“Gretchen is an artist, and a motivated and self-directed young woman,” said Snowlight owner Valery Kelly.

Locally, Sunlight cards are carried at Walnut House in Aspen, and the Book Train in Glenwood Springs.

Images for the summer collection include a Paul Chesley aerial photograph of Maroon Bells and Pyramid Peak, Ken McGraw’s intimate portrait of a mountain goat and her kid, and Burham Arndt’s image of an aspen grove. In all, Snowlight has more than 90 card designs.

“The cards feature the saturated colors of wildflowers and mountain peaks, blue skies, and clear streams that renew the spirit,” Kelly said.

Other photographers represented in the Snowlight line include David Hiser, Jack Dykinga, J.C. Leacock, Lois Harlamert, Peter Sahula and the late Nicholas DeVore III.

Kelly said Snowlight editions publishes its cards with soy inks on recycled paper. Personalized customer service is also offered. Information: 963-7099,
