Snowshoe race results were a snow job

Claire Noone

Dear Editor,

My mom runs for fun. Almost every day she runs to the top of either Red Mountain or Lookout Mountain, because she just loves to run. And, she’s fast. I know because I try to run with her and sometimes I can’t keep up. She has run in a lot of races and always finishes near the front, but she’s never received a prize.

So, I was really pumped to learn that she got the third fastest time in the Sunlight Snowshoe Race on Sunday. OK, so they told her she wouldn’t get a prize because she wore the wrong kind of snowshoe. Whatever. I at least thought they’d post her time. They didn’t. Although she finished third, you printed that she had no time. My mom doesn’t care because she really had fun beating my dad and everything, but I think it’s whack!

I think the race results were a snow job! Next time, I think they should post all the times and explain why winning times didn’t get prizes. That way everybody knows what really happened at the race.

P.S. My mom doesn’t know I’m writing this.
