All-league soccer players from both the 4A and 3A Western Slope Leagues squared off in the Emily Johnson Play It Forward All Star Exhibition Games on Friday. Players from the two leagues were divided up into teams for both boys and girls exhibition tilts at Gates Soccer Park.

Basalt’s Sebastian Liuzzi and the black team won their game over the gray team, 4-2. Scoring goals for the winning side were Battle Mountain’s Heivan Garcia (two), Basalt’s Sean Ryan and Liuzzi. Alfonso Hernandez and Luis Pena scored for the gray team. Both were representing Coal Ridge. The black and gray teams tied, 4-4, on the girls side. Aspen’s Keile Kropf scored twice for the black team, which also got goals from Coal Ridge’s Kelsey Fauser and Delta’s Amber Farr. Coal Ridge’s Paige Ryan had two goals for the gray team. Glenwood Springs’ Michaela Mansfield and Basalt’s Ginevra Moore also chipped in with goals. The exhibition games kicked off the Emily Johnson Play It Forward 3v3 Soccer Tournament, which runs today and Sunday at Gates Soccer Park.
