Sonya Hemmen is GSES’ gain

Dear Editor,This letter is to the parents of all the children now or in the future attending Glenwood Springs Elementary School.Sonya Hemmen, vice principal at Glenwood Springs High School, has recently been appointed principal at the elementary school. Sonya is truly the best candidate for the position. She constantly and consistently brings her very best to the workplace, and always has the best interests of the students in mind. She knows how to balance fun and laughter with the tough task of education. Innovative in her ideas and always seeking something new and better for our children is what Sonya is all about. She does what it takes to get the job done. She is completely deserving of the trust we all place in her with the education of our children.Kudos to Fred Wall and our school district administrators for having the foresight to retain such a valuable asset as Sonya Hemmen in our school district. It’s a bittersweet feeling that we have. We feel sadness in losing Sonya from the high school, but are so very grateful for the opportunity we had to truly get to know her and to have been able to work with her for the time we did.Congratulations, Sonya, for a job well done and for your well-deserved promotion to the helm of a new school. Best of luck to you as your career in education continues to unfold. You have truly earned your success. To the parents at GSES – our loss is your gain!Sincerely, Glenn & Debbie Novak Glenwood Springs
