Carbondale is getting Kinky Friday.Author, musician and humanitarian Kinky Friedman will appear at the Gordon Cooper Library in Carbondale at noon Friday for a free book reading and signing.Friedman, who has been called the “Frank Zappa of country music,” is the author of 20 mystery novels and fronts the band Kinky Freidman and the Texas Jewboys.The Texas gubernatorial candidate will read from “Ten Little New Yorkers,” followed by a signing of the book and “‘Scuse Me While I Whip This Out.” Both titles will be available for purchase.NovelTea bookstore is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the books to the Friends of the Gordon Cooper Branch Library.Call 963-2889 with any questions.
